Hello from Sunny California

Hello,
My name is Shannon; I currently reside in Los Angeles, California.  I was raised in Upstate New York; I moved to Florida the day that I graduated from high school. After fourteen years living in the South I headed out west to further build my skills in photography, film and underwater cinematography since I was booking more gigs in Cali than Florida it made sense to move. In addition I travel quite a bit internationally to shoot and have done stock for Nat Geo. I am hopeful that the MALET program mixed with the private specialty dive training sessions I am attending in Cali, will further assist me in utilizing technology to educate in underwater environments. Once I complete this program with SUNY, I will be completing a second Masters at NOVA in Marine Management and Coastal studies.
In my spare time I rescue and rehabilitate dogs; primarily “bully-breeds”. I enjoy skydiving, scuba diving, hiking, boating, traveling (backpacking), Pilates, and SUP. I am obsessed with the marine environment and marine microbiology. I also love night dives, the darkness is when you generally get to see what the marine world really has to offer; plus you have a much better shot at seeing some of the large apex predators!
I look forward to exploring this class and getting to know everyone better!

Wow great to have you will us. And I hope that you can arrange to be at the MALET orientation at 6:30 PM ET in Second Life. Not sure if you can work out the time difference. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the readings.
